Amphithecium with small crystals that dissolve rapidly in KOH (campestris-type). Parathecium hyaline, without crystals, 10–15 µm thick. Epihymenium reddish brown, with crystals soluble in KOH (chlarotera-type). Hymenium hyaline, 65–75 µm thick. Hypothecium and subhymenium hyaline. Paraphyses c. 1.5 µm wide, sparingly branched apically; apices not to slightly thickened, to c. 2.5 µm wide. Ascospores broadly ellipsoidal, 8.5–12.5 × 5.5–7.5 µm.
